Classroom training for personnel responsible for processing or accepting Dangerous Goods consignments (IATA 7.3 / Code C+F / until 2022 Cat. 3+6)

Target Group:

Employees of air freight forwarding agents who issue air waybills for Dangerous Goods shipments as well as employees of ground handling service providers and operators (airlines) – excluding Class 7 (radioactive materials)

Monday to Wednesday 08h15 – ca. 16h30 Thursday 08h15 – ca. 12h00

Training Location:

Lakefirst Coworking Space, Eva-Maria-Mazzucco-Platz 2, 1220 Vienna Arrival by public transportation: Subway line U2, “Seestadt” station and approx. 3 minutes on foot Arrival by car: Various parking garages in the immediate vicinity, e.g. Parkhaus Seehub, Sonnenallee 16, (daily rate € 4.50), Goldbeck Parkgarage, Sonnenallee 26 (daily rate € 4.50), various WIPARK garages (daily rate approx. € 25) Accommodation: Hotel DORMERO HoHo Wien, Wangari-Maathai- Platz 1 (approx. 3 minutes on foot), FeelGood Apartments, Maria-Trapp-Platz 1 (approx. 3 minutes on foot) or we recommend a hotel close to the U2 subway line

  • The price includes:
    Personal training course notes, examination, after successful completion a certificate, certified by IATA and Austro Control GmbH and non-alcoholic drinks (coffee and tea)

A current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations manual will be provided on loan for the duration of the training.

Course Contents:

  • Module 0: Understanding the basics of dangerous goods (Dangerous goods applicability/Understanding the general limitations/Identifying different roles and responsibilities/Understanding the importance of classification & packaging/Understanding hazard communication/Familiarizing with basic emergency response)
  • Module 3: Processing/accepting cargo (Review documentation/Review package(s)/Complete acceptance procedures)
  • Module 7: Collecting safety data (Report dangerous goods accidents, incidents, undeclared/mis-declared dangerous goods and dangerous goods occurrences) Note: Module 7 is only required for dangerous goods acceptance staff of operators and their ground handling agents; for air cargo forwarding agents recommended
  • Practical exercises
